The Indian audience’s sentiment isn’t strong; it can be hurt easily especially when it comes to using gods and goddesses as a medium to send a message out. No matter what you intended to inform using deities as a medium, if your message is perceived negatively you’ve got a huge mess on your hand and the wrath of the nation to gun you down. But that is not the case with this video that is a part of the #DontLetHerGo campaign. In an appeal to maintain cleanliness, a video on #SwachhBharat featuring Kangana Ranaut as goddess Laxmi has been made to go viral. The video paints a dismal picture of the double standards of Indians who are in concern of themselves and only themselves. The video further goes on to take a dig on Indians at how we clean only our homes and negate the rest of the society we live in.
The video further takes a jibe at “Laxmi Pujan”, showing Goddess Laxmi disappearing as it only resides where there is cleanliness. The Goddess of Wealth is further seen riding away on a cool bike, leaving behind the viewers thinking on the age old adage of “Cleanliness is Godliness’.
It’s a must watch video, not just for its message but for the super cute way that it drives that message home. The video also sees the return of Isha Koppikar (housewife) and other lauded actors like Ravi Kishan (pan seller) and Omkar Kapoor (office goer). Watch it and remember, #dontlethergo!
